Upcoming rides planned
Two rides are in the planning stages.
On Sunday morning we have the option of riding the beautiful area around Castroville, or riding the Mission Trail route. Both of these rides can range from 25 to 40 miles. Leave a comment with your preference, or email me at bobem@lake.ollusa.edu.
On this upcoming Tuesday afternoon (11/10), Dr. Slive is bringing his bike to San Antonio for a midweek, early afternoon ride. This ride will be around 30 miles. The start time will be about 1:30PM and the route will be determined soon. If you are interested in taking a break and doing a midweek ride, let me know. The weather is predicted to be in the mid 70s that day.
Lastly, a number of us will be at TPA this weekend, but if anyone is interested in a Saturday ride, let me know and I will help get you in touch with each other.
See you on the road!

Houston Riders shine in the Tour de Gruene

Here is another story about the Tour de Gruene from the Express News.
Riders from Houston won bragging rights Saturday as the top man and woman in this year’s Tour de Gruene, and Lance Armstrong’s record of a year ago remained intact.
Those weren’t the most important things on most riders’ minds, though. They celebrated a cloudless day on a winding, riverside route that marks a festive end to the cycling season.
Tour de Gruene a race for all sorts of riders

Tour de Gruene was a wonderful ride!
Although the start was chilly, the view and the pleasantly rolling terrain made this year’s TdG a memorial experience. Joan rode the 30 mile route up and down River Road. Arnie and Monte took the longer route that ended up being 52 or 53 miles depending on whether or not a wrong turn was involved.
This snapshot was taken of one of the many faux German bar maids who rode the Tour in similar costumes.
Weekend Rides 10/17 & 10/18
Is anyone interested in riding this Saturday? Would you be interested in coordinating a start location and distances.
Monte is interested in a 30 mile plus ride Sunday. He could meet riders who were looking for shorter distances. Let us know.
